Recently made redundant?

  At risk of redundancy? Re-thinking your career options?

Do you have a skill or professional expertise that the newly shaped public sector or indeed private sector companies could benefit from? If so, why not look at setting up as a freelance consultancy? Or maybe you are moving into a new role  where you are required to operate as a consultant?

We have developed two new professional programmes that could help facilitate your development as a management consultant.  They have been designed to develop individual’s skills as management consultants – suitable for those looking to make the transition from the public to the private sector and those staying within the public sector. These programmes are;

Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials: This qualification provides an introduction to the skills and knowledge required to become an effective management consultant.

Diploma in Management Consulting Essentials: This is a more in-depth qualification for those who want to further develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours to successfully operate and deliver as a Management Consultant.  It will support professionals who want to enter management consultancy, or who due to a change of role find themselves in a management position.

Both programmes are fully accredited through the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) – meaning that as well as practical learning about management consultancy and your own personal development you also achieve a highly regarded professional qualification ~ and, depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for full funding!

Feedback from course participants...

"The training really gave me the information I needed to start my own consultancy business. I already had the technical skills and this programme gave me the business skills and confidence I needed"

"The course not only covered tools and techniques of consultancy, but also practical advice. Perhaps the most useful advice was on the mindset which must be adopted to make a success of a consultancy enterprise".

"I was determined not to start my own business without thinking about Consultancy as a profession.  It was great to be taken through all the professional disciplines and aspects of running your own practice by two people who had already done it, (and are still doing it)"

"Four full days of intense learning, loads of reading and then a 3000 word assignment.  July 2011 was pretty intense.  Even before the happy results of the assignment assessment the value of this course was clear.  Making the assignment topic a demonstration of lessons learned by compiling a plan for my business start-up meant that I went in to this very different career with a carefully thought out and documented plan."

"This training from Social Marketing East gave me things to think about that I would otherwise have missed.  When you are selling a product, the need for market research is clear.  When you are planning to sell your own expertise, a start-up cost of this kind is a wise investment".
